MAKEUP ON A BUDGET // FULL FACE

Many people don't just wanna go buy makeup for thousand of dollars, even though we actually wish we could, but I guess we gotta get it together and do makeup on a budget! Let's be honest - the only difference between expansive and inexpensive makeup is sometimes just the name of the company.

The products I'm going to recommend are of course some products I've tried and thinks work amazing for me! It's defiantly makeup on a budget I tell you! For a studying girl like me - you defiantly would want makeup on a budget. 

It's actually just about trying a lot of makeup, try different brands, see what your skin can take etc. and when you finally find something that's working for you it's amazing, so here's some products I personally can't live without:

1. My primer which I can't live without cause without my primer no base, and no base... well we all know what's gonna happen - makeup sliding around, especially if you're a oily beast like me haha
This primer works so good for me, it's from Nivea so it's very affordable and it smells great + it has hydration in it too, so it's a primer and it hydrates! Really great if you ask me :)

2. This is a concealer, but I actually like it as a foundation! YES you heard me. It's oil free and the product is almost free haha since the prize is so looow! It covers amazingly and it lasts me all day! Give it a try you defiantly won't regret, and maybe you can switch your expansive foundation out with this cheap alternative.
TIP: If you got acne this product will cover all the red with one swipe of it, I bought it because of my acne and it worked amazing, and today I don't have acne, but I love this product so much I can't let it go now :)

 3. Then apply a concealer where needed (blemished, under eye circles) try the True Match by Loreal it's a really great concealer and I do have to say set it of with a good matte powder so it doesn't crease or else it will.













4. To top of my ELF concealer "foundation" I recommend using the Stay Matte Powder by Rimmel it's amazing, go for one with no color "tranparent" if you are wearing a foundation, cause if you use a powder on top of your already colored foundation it will get a little muddy in my opinion.
This powder will keep you matte all day and it's easy to touch up with it later same day.

5. To contour you forehead, cheekbones etc. try this one from ELF. It's the ELF Pressed Powder, get one in 2-3 shades darker than your skintone so you will get a nice contour. You just can't go wrong with this!

6. To set your brows try the ELF Eyebrow kit. It comes with a gel and a powder and a mini brush and mirror. It's a really great packaging (all the products from the Studio Line just have a great packaging which kind of reminds me of nars, which is not a bad thing at all)
TIP: If your blond choose a shade 2 shades darker. If your brunette choose a shade 2 shades lighter.

7. For eyeshadow I recommend getting a cheap palette with colors that compliment your eyes. This one I have a post on http://melinachristiansen.blogspot.dk/2014/01/review-swatches-elf-baked-eyeshadow.html so go check it out. It's the ELF Baked Eyeshadow Palette on Texas.

8. Add mascara. Here I have the Falsies by Maybelline, which I use on my top lashes and for the bottom I use Accelerator by Rimmel london. Both mascaras makes your lashes longer and the Falsies defiantly gives you a lot of volume. For best results apply 2 layers.

9. To finish the look apply a affordable luscious liquid lipstick by ELF in Baby Lips to your lips and you are ready to go with your makeup on a budget look.













This is the products I use everyday going somewhere special, the look completed gives a very classic put together look. It's a clean look and you didn't use that much money on it which is such a benefit! Hope you liked it!

SECRET TO LONGER FULLER LASHES

 The secret to fuller and thicker looking lashes is very simple, the answer is VASELINE! It will make them look longer, thicker and it will make them stronger, so they don't fall out often. Every girls dream is to have long lashes, and now the only thing you'll have to do is to apply vaseline every night and wait for your results.

You can either apply with your fingers or take an old mascara and clean the wand, and there you have it a clean wand you can dip into your vaseline and apply to your lashes. 

It took me about a month before I saw results. Just be patient and it'll work!

HOW TO GET RID OF ACNE - SKINCARE ROUTINE

Hi ladies! This is a very important post for me, cause I've been having acne for a couple of years now, and I am so happy to say that it's almost completely gone! I want to give you some tricks step by step that can help you, if you are struggling with acne as I did or just to maintain your fresh acne free skin. I feel like I need to tell you what worked for me, and hopefully it can help you!

STEP ONE:

If your acne is really bad try going to your doctor, they can help you with a special cream or pills. If that doesn't help you, then your doctor can recommend you a doctor that is specialized in skin and can help you with stronger pills or another thing that your normal doctor couldn't help you with, cause remember seeing a doctor that is specialized in skin will know exactly how to help you. 

STEP TWO:

A very important thing is that you can't touch your face, unless you've just washed them! You have so many bacteria on your hands and if you got acne you defiantly don't want to rub them all over your face. Always wash your hands before applying any cream to your face or primer. 

STEP THREE:

To scrub out any bacteria and dead skin, try the Manhatten Wash Scrub. Use it when you're in the shower. First you wanna take your shower head and point it at your face to wash it, don't touch your face while washing your face, clean your hands with a bit of soap and then you wanna take a little bit of the scrub and scrub it to your skin - especially on the cheeks, forehead and nose area, avoid getting it in your eyes, and DON'T rub to hard! Remember if you rub hard on your skin the acne will get irritated and it will become red and maybe it will swollen a bit. It's your skin and you wanna take care of it so do it nice and gentle. 

After that wash it of with the shower head, don't touch your face while showering the scrub of. 

STEP FOUR:

Apply a moisturizer every morning and night. Before applying wash your face with pure clean water, as I'd like to do is to grab a little towel and make it wet with cold water and press softly to your face to clean it up before applying any moisturizer, now wash your hands. Don't take to much cream and apply to your face while doing circle-motions. Your face will now smell fresh and feel soft. I recommend the Nivea Aqua Sensation Moisturizer  - choose the one for normal skin.   

STEP FIVE:

If you have acne on your bag or anywhere else applying a good body lotion is the answer. You'll need to invest in a more expensive one, but it will be worth it. Try the Plaisir Body Lotion.

 This lotion has a lovely smell and gives you the feel and appearance of soft arms.


















STEP SIXTH:

If you are wearing makeup try using a primer, which brand do skincare products. It's not always a good idea buying a primer from a company that does makeup. Buying a primer from a skincare company makes sure that they have the right ingredients for your skin. Try out the primer from Nivea, it's a really good primer and it hydrates your skin as well.

That's why you should invest in a really good classic bag, which you can add to your high street. If you don't have as many money as Olivia, just go for a bag with that "expensive" look. You can find expensive looking bags at H&M, Topshop etc.

PATTERNED PANTS:

You often see Olivia mix different patterns. To calm down the look she adds her onecolored coat with accessories. 

THE STATEMENT NECKLACE:

Olivia seems always to be wearing her statement necklaces. Can you blame her? Cause it looks so good with her high fashion look. She often wear one necklace or sometimes two, unless she is wearing her big cocktail ring. You can use the necklace for a plain t-shirt to fresh up the look and make it chic, or with pretty silk shirts. Whatever you think would look good with a chunky necklace. 

HER HIGH HEELS:

Legs just do get better looking by adding a pair of high heels! Which Olivia found out a looong time ago. DON'T be scared to stand out, and choose a pair with beautiful details, like feathers and stones (Olivia created a high heel shoe with feathers called "Olivia")

FAVORITES AT THE MOMENT

My favorites right at the moment are these elegant four things.
Bag bought in Sparkz, but I've seen the bag in many different stores and look-a-likes as well. Sunglasses for the wintertime cause when all the white snowing is falling it can really hurt your eyes while your driving. A statement necklace gold with diamonds - we all love!
Perfume 'COOL WATER' by Davidoff. Really fresh smell like you've just gotten out of the shower, we all love that smell right? :)

OLIVIA PALERMO - I AM NOT A BITCH

Olivia Palermo's turbulent way to success is because of the history behind 'Gossip Girl'. But she also got famous for starring in the reality show 'The City' and got titled as the bitch. A repetition she does not agree with at all.

It is only a few people who persuade to be a part of the fashion industry plus the upper class of New York. Nevertheless the young 27 year old blogger, model and socialite Olivia Palermo achieved it, even though she has been having all odds against her.  Referring to the false email sent by the sister from The Socialité Rank and the bad repetition from being on the reality show 'The City'.
But besides all that she did everything to get her name "clean" and she is now a very coveted lady. Today she gets followed by some of the biggest fashion magazines such as 'Elle' and 'Vogue' and designers who wants to sit next to her at the front row to their shows.         
Olivia has done what many others can't - she has turned herself from reality star to a international style icon, who now is a director with employees on her blog oliviapalermo.com.
The road for her succes could have been way easier she says if she hadn't been through all the bumps on the road.

BORN INTO FASHION
The style has not come by itself. Ever since her childhood she has been having an obsession for fashion. She is born and raised between Upper East Side, New York and Greenwich, Connecticut. Olivia were introduced to fashion in a very early age and the good vibe. Her father learned her how to create a good connection through social arrangements in the upper class, while her mother marked her sense of style.

Olivia says that her mother and aunt were two really styled women, who she looked up to. Her aunt worked in the couture section at Doyle Auction House where she would rate dresses. Olivia gives that the reason for some of her style in fashion, because she were introduced for extravagant fashion with exclusive jewelry, which she says her family has a big collection of.

THE BITCH FROM 'THE CITY'

The earlier reality star Olivia Palermo said that the show didn't show her 'real side'. She did afterwards regret doing the show even though she got 65000 danish crowns (6592$ US) per episode and made her a international star.
She says "it's pretty disappointing" referring to she got showed as the cold bitch, who talked bad about others in the pr section at Diane Von Furstenburg. Olivia tells the Page Six Magazine "In real life I am much sweeter, relaxed and leaned back. I am not that bitchy and serious as the show makes me look like, even though I am very serious about my work. My repetition is totally misunderstood".
When she thinks back at her TV career Olivia says that she thinks it's ridiculous.

But after the show ended she got an offer with Wilhelmina Models and success started to show. Today most people has forgot her reality star past and she is living a dream most people only could wish for.

Review & Swatches: ELF Baked Eyeshadow

Hi ladies, it's time for another review & swatches. This time it's ELF again! Yes I know, but I just can't resist the quality mixed with those affordable prices - that just screams my name. Especially for a girl like me working hard in high school with a low budget, even though I work in a clothing store and earn a good amount of money, I still prefer a great cheap alternative! BUT it's only because of the quality of these products I do, if not I wouldn't buy them but use more money on a better product.

About the product:

As I sit with it in my hands I feel like it's gonna last me forever to use it up. I've used the shadows so many times and it keeps looking exactly the same way as the day I received it, even though it does get a bit dirty (as seen on the photo above)
As the ELF Baked Palette I do find it easier to apply the product with your hands, cause I find that the product reacts to body heat and gets easier on your fingers than a eyeshadow brush. You can apply with both, it's just that I prefer to apply with fingers when it's baked.

Besides all that it's a very pigmented eyeshadow and I do like the colors a lot. There's 6 colors (in UK) and there's 10 in US and I've got 3 of them as you can see. I don't know why we only got 6 out of 10 in the EU, but I guess there's a weird reason for that. I am defiantly going to order the rest of them, cause I think it's just a good investment and you get a lot for the money.

About the packaging:

I really like the packaging, it's these small shadows and it's clear so you can see right away which color to pick up in your (maybe) big collection of makeup, which I find very helpful so you doesn't have to open each shadow to see which color it is.
It opens up very easily and it's just an easy shadow to bring with you.

 "Pixie" - This I would say has the opposite from the "Enchanted" this is pink with a touch of gold and it looks really girly and flirty on your eyes.

"Enchanted" - This color is really gorgeous in the inner of your eye and has a gold look with a touch of pink.

 "Bark" - this color is mainly a pretty dark brown color with gold glitter. This I would say is more for the smokey eyes look while it has a very dark color and lots of glitter, I would apply this on the entire lid or apply it as an outer v on my eyelid.

How to Cara Delevingne Eyebrows

It's time for the eyebrows! And who is famous for her eyebrows? Cara Delevingne! But she's of course also famous for her modeling.  
But let's not talk to much and jump right to it!

Eyebrows can change up your entire look, and it's just about experiencing with them until you find the best way for you! But right now we are doing The Cara Look. 

If you already have fuller eyebrows like Cara just keep reading, but if you don't a want fuller eyebrows scroll down to "grow longer fuller eyebrows"

For fuller eyebrows:

STEP 1: Take a mascara wand and brush all of your eyebrows upwards so that your brows will look longer (Trick: if you don't have a clean mascara wand, make one - by taking an old mascara and just take the wand and wash it with warm water and soap and there you have it a nice clean mascara wand you can use for eyebrows)

STEP 2: Check the picture above of Angelina Jolie, if your eyebrow fits with the angles you don't need to drag a longer line or anything, BUT if you don't you may drag your line longer to (3) or (1) as seen on the picture. Because if your eyebrows don't go all the way into the "corner" your eyes will look further apart.

STEP 3: Now take your favorite eyebrow product and start filling in your "holes" in your eyebrow. If you need a darker shade use a gel, but if you need to do them lighter take a light powder to fill in your brows. (Trick: If you're not sure about which kind of shade you should use let me help you. If you're blonde, then you should wear a darker shade on your eyebrow 2 - 3 times darker. If you're a brunette you should wear a shade 2 - 3 times lighter than your hair.)

 STEP 4: If you "ruined" your eyebrows the way you brushed them first you may brush them through again to set them.

STEP 5: To "clean" up your eyebrow you can apply a white shadow underneath your brow, just a slighty thin line (don't make it to visible) it makes your eyebrow stand out more, which is exactly what you want because we're going for The Cara Look.

  

Grow longer fuller eyebrows:

For you who hasn't those long eyebrows... YET!
You can do a simple step to grow them longer, you may have heard it before. Apply vaseline every night to your eyebrows and they'll eventually grow stronger, thicker and longer in a few weeks :) Same thing as you can with your eyelashes, just make sure it doesn't get into your eye. 

I've done this myself with both brows and lashes - it helps!

Try with the vaseline for a few weeks and then come back to read how to do the Cara eyebrows :)
